This is unfair, reckless, and dangerous.
A $100 “Vax Tax” for most Albertans when they get their COVID shot.
Only a few groups are exempt after pushback.
The result: fewer vaccines, more illness, higher hospital costs.
Charging for vaccines means fewer people get protected. Families living paycheck to paycheck will skip vaccines. Workers will get sick, especially health care and education workers.
That means more outbreaks, more pressure on hospitals, and bigger bills for all of us.
Albertans know what’s worth axing. Premier Smith’s $100 health Vax Tax targets people doing the right thing–getting vaccinated.

Vaccines should be free for everybody. A lot of Albertans are living paycheque to paycheque & can't afford the $100 & can't afford to get sick.

Canada has always been known for it's free healthcare, which is one of the great things about living here. Do not destroy it and do something to help society prosper instead of making it worse.

Preventative medicine always better and cheaper than treating the actual illness.

I'm supporting because healthcare for profit is unconstitutional and unfairly targets lower socioeconomic persons

The health of all Albertans depends on a high vaccination rate. No obstacles , financial or otherwise, should stop someone from getting their vaccination. To charge for a CoVid vaccine , or any health care, is again the public health care act.

I'm a senior, with a husband who is immunocompromised. It's difficult enough having to worry about his existing health issues, without having to worry about whatever new virus people around him will be able to transfer. Charging these fees for vaccines to regular population deters them from immunization for themselves and also 'herd protection ' for the rest! The stewards of Healthcare for the Alberta government, (& Canada), should be looking at how to improve and strengthen our country's Healthcare, not dismantle it! Shame on you and your government for enlisting policy and efforts to weaken the Healthcare coverage of those that need it the most, and are not in financial position to afford these surcharges!
Tell the Premier: Don't Tax the Vax!

Preventative medicine saves lives and money. Every $1 spent on vaccination saves up to $20 in medical expenses and lost productivity. I signing this petition I’m supporting, smart, cost-effective healthcare that protects everyone and strengthens our economy.

An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of treatment. Covid vaccines prevent serious disease and hospitalization, which is much more expensive than the vaccine! The govt is saving money by paying for vaccines. Get rid of the obstacles for the public to get vaccinated!

Something has to change. I am not going to sit by and watch this group of people attempt to systematically dismantle our systems and leave the mess for my children to clean up.

All health care should be covered by AHS. ABSOLUTELY NO MEDICAL CARE SHOULD BE PRIVATIZED.

Because the cost of one person in hospital could vaccinate many many people. There is no logic in the charge!!!

Charging for necessary vaccines is a flat tax that hurts those struggling financially- this is Canada, not the US.

There are a lot of people whose immune systems are compromised. Not everyone can afford to pay for the vaccine.

Many people will not get vaccinated putting their older and younger family members and the general population at risk, this is reckless disregard for the health of our population.

This province is trying to cripple the everyday person. The only people this government cares about the rich.

Charging for the vaccine will reduce accessibility, resulting in fewer people being vaccinated. This will result in higher rates of illness, ED visits, hospitalizations, and deaths, all of which are avoidable. This will have a cascading effect on the healthcare system and the physical and psychological health of Albertans.

Removing the barrier is not a vaccine mandate, it allows choice to have access to preventative medicine.
